The Strike is growing
SAN DIEGO CHAPTER
The San Diego Chapter started in the Summer of 2025,
by volunteers from the San Diego County community.
We are a grassroots organization built for the people, by the people.
If you want to join us, you can find us
on our socials at the top of this website!

Who Are We?
The General Strike is a decentralized network of regular people who know our greatest power is our labor and our constitutional right to refuse it. We aim to unite every person and organization fighting for racial, economic, and environmental justice so that together, we can see real change in our lifetimes.
3.5%
Research shows that strikes engaging a threshold of 3.5% of the population have never failed to bring about change.
3.5% of the US population is 11M people.
When we have 11M Strike Cards signed, we STRIKE!
Our Strike Card Count Grows Every Day
In revolutionary theory,
demands are not the goal…
They are organizing weapons.
Demands don’t convince the system;
they organize the people to confront it.
P.O.W.E.R. to keep every demand rooted in liberation.

People Over Profits: Life comes before capital. Human needs are not negotiable. The economy should serve the people and not shareholders. This challenges the core logic of capitalism itself.
Our Right to Self Determination: Communities decide what happens in their own neighborhoods. Workers decide how their labor is used. Colonized and oppressed people decide their futures. This directly rejects empire, policing and corporate rule.
Working Class Liberation: Not middle class comfort. Not “equal opportunity” exploitation. Full freedom from wage slavery and economic coercion. This names the working class as one of the agents of change.
Equity & Autonomy: Real access to resources and not symbolic inclusion. Control over our bodies, labor and communities. Liberation that accounts for race, gender, disability, and class. This is about material equity and not symbolic representation.
Resistance to Empire: Opposition to militarism, colonialism and extraction. No liberation at home while exploiting people abroad. International solidarity against global capitalism. This keeps the struggle global and anti imperialist.
Understanding Demands
Before we talk about demands, we need to break a habit most movements are trained into. Under this system, people are taught that: Demands come first. Power comes later. Change comes from asking the right people nicely.
That’s backwards.
In GSUS, strategy to achieve power in numbers comes first, because demands without power are just requests.

What our demands are not:
Policy wishlists written for politicians. Electoral promises tied to campaigns. Talking points meant to sound reasonable to the ruling class.
These kinds of demands assume:
The system is legitimate. The people in power are neutral. Change comes from persuasion.
Specific demands will come from leaders and experts of existing fights for racial, economic, gender and environmental justice once we have reached 6M Strike Cards.
